Stefan Aust




Stefan Aust, born on July 1, 1946 in Stade, was an editor at »konkret« magazine from 1966 to 1969. From 1970 to 1985, he worked as an editor at the NDR on various programmes, including the TV show »Panorama«. In 1988, he founded »SPIEGEL TV«, the first private political TV programme on German television, where he stayed as managing director until 2007. From 1994 to 2008, Stefan Aust was the editor in chief at the printed news magazine »DER SPIEGEL«; among others, he established »SPIEGEL ONLINE« and the news station XXP. In 2009, he developed a digital weekly magazine on behalf of the WAZ group. He is the author and director of various documentaries and books, including the bestseller »The Baader-Meinhof Complex«.
